Finscape privacy policy
Last updated: October 29, 2026
Finscape ("the app") is developed by SquareCat ("we", "us", "our"). SquareCat LLC is a New York limited liability company. This policy explains what happens to your data when you use the app.
The short version: we never receive any of your information. The Finscape Android app has no accounts, no analytics and no ads, and it doesn’t connect to the internet. Your progress is stored only on your device, and if Android backup is on, it’s also included in your own Google backup.
This policy covers the Finscape app for Android. The Finscape website, where you can create an account, has its own privacy policy.
Information we collect
We do not collect any personal information. The app does not require an account or sign-in of any kind, does not use analytics, does not show ads, and does not include any crash-reporting or tracking software development kits (SDKs).
The app does not request access to the internet, or to your device’s location, camera, contacts, photos or any other sensitive permission.
Data stored on your device
To track your learning, the app stores the following on your device, in a local database:
- Which lessons you’ve read, and when
- Your quiz reviews: how well you answered each question, and when it’s next due for review
- Your daily learning streak and which daily goals you’ve completed
This data stays on your device. We do not operate any server that receives, stores or has access to it, and the app cannot send it to us or to anyone else.
Android backup
If Android backup is turned on for your device, Android includes the app’s local database in your device backup. That backup is stored in your Google account and handled by Google under Google’s Privacy Policy. We cannot access it. It lets you restore your progress on a new or reset phone. If you’d rather your progress not be included, turn off backup in your device settings.
Data sharing
We do not sell, rent or share your data with third parties, because we never receive it in the first place. The only copy that leaves your device is Android’s own backup to your Google account, if you have it turned on, as described above.
Data deletion
Since all your progress lives in the app’s local storage on your device, you can delete it at any time by clearing the app’s storage in your device settings or uninstalling the app. If Android backup is on, a copy may remain in your Google backup until Android replaces or expires it; you can manage or delete backups in your Google account.
Children’s privacy
Finscape is a general financial education app intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. It does not knowingly collect information from anyone.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes (for example, if a future version of the app adds a new feature that affects your data), we will update this page and revise the “Last updated” date.
